On average a 12 yard cubic skip can hold 100-120 bags of waste. It has a height of 1.6 metres (5’6″) its width is 1.78 metres (5′ 10″) and its length is 3.7 metres (12′ 2″). This sized skip is great for large house clearance waste, for bulky furniture or other large items of waste.
The 12 yard skip size is not however, available for heavy waste such as soil, hard core or any other type of heavy waste as it is not designed for this type of weight.
Skip Lorries require a minimum of 10ft (3.3metres) width to be able to deliver a skip for them to be able can gain access to a drop off point. This applies regardless of the size skip you have ordered so for some people a skip is just not an option and this is where they would look at a clearance company instead. Another reason why a clearance company is a good option to a skip is the company will have their own staff to do the work, so you don’t have to lift a finger.
For many people a skip is ideal as it gives them time to sort through and throw away their rubbish in a time frame that suits them, but for other people who want to get the job done quickly a skip is not always the best option. It is far too easy to get side tracked with other household tasks and then you could have a skip sitting on your property for months.
Please take our sizes listed above as an approximate as they can vary dependent on supplier, they are just to help give you an idea of size.
