Junk removal isn't the most glamorous of topics, but it's something most of us have to deal with at some time or another.

junk removalOne person's junk is another person's treasure. We have all heard this saying a million times but we don't give it much thought until the time comes for us to clean out a room, home, storage building, attic, or anything else that has been used to collect items for storage.

This job is difficult because what your spouse and children may be urging you to get rid of may not seem like junk to you and vice versa. Or, you may have a fear of letting things go because you just know one day you are going to need it.

There are lots of different circumstances that require a clearout and junk removal. Perhaps you're moving home and need to get rid of the junk you've accumulated over the years first. A new baby in the family or taking in an elderly parent can mean you need to clear out the extra bedroom you've been using for storage. If someone in your family has passed away you may need to sort out and clear their home. Or perhaps you just want more room and have decided to clear out the attic or basement to convert into another room. Whatever the reason, it can be a tough job.

To make it a little easier no matter what is being cleared, keep the following five junk removal tips in mind:

Junk removal shouldn't be done alone

Try to get others to help you with junk removal even if it means listening to their opinions about what you choose to keep and what you let go. You will get a fresh perspective on what may really be junk and what might be useful. You may even find new homes for some of the stuff that you don't necessarily want to keep, but don't want to just throw out either.

You can get the job done much faster if you have help, but make sure they are ready to work. If it turns into a chit chat festival you will end up doing the bulk of the work alone once they leave. Let them know it's time to roll up the sleeves and get busy.

Donate what you can for junk removal with a clear conscience

  • Charity organisations can make use of anything that is still in good working order, so are a good option for junk removal.
  • You can set aside items that are still functional and in nice shape to go to a charitable organisation.
  • You may have to load up a truck or van and take the items to them or some may come pick them up. Give them a call with a list of what you have and see how they work.

If you have a lot of useful items that you think others would want you could even have a car boot sale to find homes for much of it.

Do the junk removal ASAP

There is no joy in walking out your front door or looking out the window to see a pile of junk in the front yard or at the curb. Even worse is a hidden pile of junk in the backyard or other areas of your property. Don't do this!

You want to clear out the clutter so you have more room in your home and so you feel better about your property. Cluttering up another area outdoors to do this makes no sense. If you aren't going to have a boot sale and have already donated all working order items to charity the rest of the stuff can be picked up by a junk removal service.

Using a junk removal company like The All Clear Company can make getting rid of the accumulated rubbish easy - your property will be clutter free in no time and we do all the hard work!
